Spring Break in The Woodlands this year is March 12-16, so what’s a parent to do with restless kids for an entire week? Take a look at some of these suggestions to fit some adventurous fun into your week off.

• It has been a long, cold winter and many Texans are missing their swimming pools. If you and your kids are some of them, head over to Grapevine and book a couple nights at Great Wolf Lodge, one of the state’s largest indoor water parks. If you stay for two or more nights, they have a special 25% off discount. Other indoor water park alternatives include the brand-new Epic Waters massive 80,000 square foot park in Grand Prairie (just outside of Dallas) that opened in January. And, of course there’s Schlitterbahn in Galveston that has an ample indoor section.

• Close by in Waller you’ll find Lone Star Jellystone Park, a campground destination filled with fun outdoor activities for your whole family. Load up your RV and rent a campsite or reserve one of the cabins that sleep up to ten people. Bring your fishing poles and spend the afternoon on the lake, or just relax under the shady trees. Families can compete in a round or two of mini golf. Organized resort activities include ceramic painting, karaoke, basketball tournaments, dodgeball, paint ball, volley ball, ice cream socials and many, many more.

• The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will be in full effect during Spring Break again this year. The Carnival opens at 11am daily and the AGventure exhibits run from 9am to 9pm. In the exhibit hall you will find an aquaculture touch tank, functioning bee hive, chick hatchery, rabbit expo, livestock birthing area, and much more. You can view the animals in their holding bays and watch the secondary rodeo shows. Evening entertainment includes the main rodeo events and concert performances by some of the top names in the music industry.
