As you try to beat the heat over these last few remaining weeks of summer, here are some fun activities for you and your kids in air conditioned places.

A bowling alley might not be the first thing you think of for fun, but these places can be a real treat for younger kids and teens alike. With bumpers and rolling assist platforms, even the littlest of bowlers can have a good time knocking down the pins. Kids will get a kick out of the special bowling shoes and seeing their names up on the scoreboard. Most bowling alleys, like Bowlero in Conroe and Main Event in Shenandoah, both off of I-45, have arcades as well. Check out kidsbowlfree.com to get free passes all summer long!

The Woodlands Children’s Museum located in Panther Creek Village Square always has great activities for youngsters. Weekly features like the Prelude Sing-A-Long Family Concert this Friday, July 28 and ice cream making during Science On Stage make visiting the museum a unique experience no matter how many times you come. Arts and crafts along with permanent exhibits like Imagination Playground and Water Play will keep kids ages 8 and under busy for hours, and they won’t even know they’re learning math, science and social skills at the same time.

Bouncin Bears of Texas is an inflatable playground and great place for kids to burn off some energy. A separate bounce area for kids 3 and under keeps them safe and happy, while older kids up to age 17 can jump their little hearts out on a jumping pillow, several bounce houses, slides and inflatable obstacle courses. Remember to bring your socks!

With three roller rinks located near The Woodlands, you won’t have to go far to get your roller groove on. Lots of kids have been inspired by the movie Trolls and would love to strap some wheels to their feet and dance around the rink. Check out Champions Roller World and Sk8town in Spring or Rainbow Roller Rink in Conroe – all have public sessions and skate rental. Not sure of your balance? Grab a “walker” and make your way on wheels holding on to this device that helps you stand up.

Make plans to cool off at one of these indoor play areas before school starts again in just a few short weeks!
