Is the Newest Trend to Master-Planned Communities Coming to Houston?

Imagine stepping into the crystal clear water from your white sandy beach with the sun shining down in the heat of the summer. You feel the breeze on your skin, see the palm trees swaying, and hear the gentle calm of the water with each passing step. You may think you’re on a remote island in the Caribbean, but you could very well be at a Crystal Lagoon, a man-made, self-cleaning lake that average from 3 to 10 acres but can span up to 90 acres in size. Featured in the Houston Business Journal, these new amenities could be slated for some communities in Houston as early as 2016.

The beauty of the technology is that the beach and resort qualities can be brought to nearly any locale. In fact, Texas is one of six states Crystal Lagoons has planned for expansion, and two developers in Houston have already expressed interest in the project.

Crystal Lagoon projects can be managed remotely, and offer outdoor entertainment space for activities such as kayaking, swimming, jet-skiing, paddle boarding, windsurfing and more. Amenities like this will certainly help add value to real estate and provides a unique outlet for rest and relaxation without the hassles of traveling to your favorite vacation spot.
