If you’re tired of the same “dinner and a movie” date night, try something new this weekend. There are lots of fun activities close to The Woodlands and in Houston, so hire a babysitter and have a fun night out on the town!

Escape rooms have become very popular over the past few years, with new locations popping up all over town. The Woodlands alone has three spots to test out your strategy and teamwork skills, plus two places in downtown Houston. If you’ve never played before, the concept is that a group of people are “locked” in either a room or a situation where they must problem-solve their way to get out. Teamwork and creativity are essential!

Laser tag is an “oldie but goodie” game that can make for a fun and active date night. Less extreme than paint ball but still a challenge in a competitive battle situation, laser tag isn’t just for kids. Main Event in The Woodlands off I-45 has a laser tag room, and the always fun go kart track off Beltway 8, Track 21, has laser tag games in addition to their go karts and mini golf.

You’ve heard of a party bus, but have you heard of a party bike? The Houston Bike Bar is a downtown tourist attraction that doubles as a fun date night idea. Participants pedal their way through Houston hot spots taking their bar along for the ride.

Going to a dinner theater can be a nice change of pace, combining two traditional fun date activities into one. Mystery Café in the Galleria has great food and a fun, interactive show. Prohibition Dinner Theater downtown is a burlesque show featuring aerial acts and impersonators. The Improv Comedy Club has big name headline acts all the time and offers dinner time and late night shows.

And for the very adventurous couple, check out iFly indoor sky diving. Participants not only get a chance to sky dive in a safe, controlled environment, they also get to enjoy a performance by the professionals who show off acrobatic sky diving skills.

So make your next date night one to remember!
