Local Business Spotlight – Texas Pet Concierge

Owning a pet can be hard work. Long nights at the office, spur of the moment business trips, social events, or just going away on holiday can leave folks scrambling to find friends or family who can care for their furry companion. What if boarding was not the only alternative solution to finding the help you need?

A local business out of Houston has crafted the perfect solution for these situations. Texas Pet Concierge strives to keep your pet as healthy and as happy as possible by maintaining their normal routine in the comfort of their own home.

I had a chance to speak with Shaina Pechal, owner of Texas Pet Concierge, who told me the story of how her company began. “I was working in the corporate world for three years and I found myself traveling quite a bit,” she said. “I had to find a pet sitter for my pets but they didn’t really like to boarded.” Since boarding a pet can be a stressful process for both owner and pet, she knew there had to be a better way, so she set out to create one.

“Say you’re just caught up at work until 9pm and you need someone to go let your dog out for a quick potty break, feed them some dinner, and give them some snuggles so you don’t have to worry about it and you can focus on what you have to do.”

“We’re busy people, and I like to be the extension of the pet-owner, and that’s really my whole mission – to keep each pet’s whole routine and procedure the same in their own comfortable environment. And it seems to work, everyone’s really happy with this service.”

“We are insured and bonded, all of our sitters have CPR and first aid certification for dogs and cats. Our sitters must go through background checks, an extensive interview and training with me, and I need to know that they are animal lovers too,” Shaina said.

While Texas Pet Concierge is primarily available to pet-owners in Houston’s inner loop, Shaina mentioned that they are looking to expand into the suburbs in the near future. Pricing starts at just $20 per visit for up to two pets. For complete pricing – click here.

“I love being able to make both people’s and pet’s lives easier,” Shaina added. “I like to give people more time and flexibility with their schedules to do what they need to do. We’re busy people, all of us are, not just certain people, and life sometimes gets in the way. I like to alleviate those little stressors.”

Perhaps in the near future when you’re struggling to find a place for your favorite pup or kitty during an open house, reach out to Shaina Pechal and Texas Pet Concierge. I know I will.
